I’ve been blogging and tweeting and facebooking like crazy the past week and a half in an attempt to generate some support for Small Town Kidmin in the kidmin blogging madness competition. I thought I’d get something out there now, as there is potentially a week left (assuming I advance to round three which is not guaranteed, but would be a good thing).
I am just having fun in this whole thing. Anything and everything I’ve said and done has been done in the complete spirit of fun. I honestly am not taking this competition too seriously. In the long run, I don’t really care if I win or not. If you knew me well, you would probably know this already as I’m the kind of guy who seeks out fun and creates it when necessary. I’m only serious when I have to be and those occasions are rare in my opinion.
I don’t know why I felt the need to share all of this, but in case someone was misreading the context of anything I may have said or done and will say or do over the next week (hopefully), I wanted to clear the air. As is always the case, if I do offend you, please let me know so that I can make it right. (Know this though, I make no apologies for my desire for excellence in ministry or my passion for the Gospel of Christ as laid out in Scripture.)
So, join in the fun by joining the conversation on facebook, twitter, here on this blog, or jump over to ministry-to-children, vote for Small Town Kidmin and leave a comment there.
I could post the same on my blog! Last year I stayed quiet because I was afraid to make a peep and have it misunderstood. This year several friends encouraged me to jump in and have some fun with it, I’m still unsure if I made the right decision from some e-mails and DMs I got, but I hope people can tell the spirit of it all is just in fun. My best bet I guess is to lose, which looks pretty sure about now! Ha!
Best thing was discovering new blogs, keep up the good work!
Karl, thanks for stopping by! I didn’t get any actual complaints, but I figured I’d better do this just in case. Like most people, the absolute best thing about this for me is discovering new blogs and being discovered. My biggest competition this round, Andy Johnson from Free CM Stuff, has become a friend through this whole thing.
Again, thanks for stopping by. It’s an honor.
