Each year, as an alternative to VBS, we have what we call a Kids’ Adventure. Like a VBS, the theme is different each year. This year, our theme is Out To Sea and all of our Bible stories will take place on the sea. We are also introducing a splash zone into this year’s event. I hope to write more as it unfolds.

Good spot, yes that is my face on the flag. It’s much harder to notice, especially if you’ve never been to one, but in the port holes are the faces of two of our characters who visit during the adventure.

What a fun alternative to Vacation Bible School! Calling it an “adventure” certainly makes it sound like a blast, and the colorful flyer is terrific. I’m sure that tons of kids want to participate in the fun Out to Sea Kids’ Adventure! You’ve given me some great inspiration of things that my own program can do to spice up our VBS—thanks for sharing!
