You can help me win this.
For the past two weeks, I have been encouraging everyone I know (and some that I don’t) to vote for my blog in the Kidmin Blogging Madness. It has been a fun experience and I am excited to be a part of the final four among some real kids’ ministry all-stars, Sam Luce, Jim Wideman, and Justyn Smith. I have been generously supported along the way and I am so grateful for those that have tweeted, blogged, emailed, or otherwise supported me this far. I am also hopeful and excited about the possibility of taking home the championship and, with that, an iPad 2.
But, when I started this blog, I didn’t do so to win a contest or to get a bunch of free stuff or even to make a name for myself. While all of those things are nice, I started this blog to provide high quality content to the small town children’s leader. I started this blog to encourage everyone who works with kids, especially those in small churches, to give their best every single day and to never settle for anything less than excellent. I started this blog to remind you that just because your church is small, it doesn’t mean your ministry has to be! I’ve encouraged you to go big, even when it doesn’t count.
That being said, I want to get back to providing you great content. I have had more visitors this past week than ever before and Saturday and Sunday (which are usually my slowest days) were my two biggest days ever! I want you new visitors to experience what I’m all about. I want to remind those of you who have been around for a while why you use your valuable time to read this blog. I’ve got what I think is great stuff coming out this week. I will still be trying to get your votes in the final four, but I thought I’d earn them instead of just begging for them.
As always, I am thankful that you stopped by and I hope you will be inspired this week to not just do what God has called you to do, but to do it well. Just wanted you to know that our Family eXperience last night at church was a great example of “going big.” What an amazing time we had learning about God. Thanks for all you do.
I’m glad to hear that. I was afraid people would be disappointed with last night. The flow felt off, but it was probably just that I was off with everything that happened this weekend.

As someone who now has a “big” ministry – I can tell you, that was never my goal or intention – it was just to follow and serve a “BIG” God and attempt to follow Him in “big” ways! Just keep serving Him and doing and going where He leads you, and He will surprise you with the Adventures He will take you on the the Opportunities He will open up for you and you will be the one more surprised by it all. Keep up the great work. I’m the least likely person to have started Kidology, but hey, that’s how God likes to work. Sometimes the people who think they are the ones “fit” for greatness, God passes over for that very reason. He likes to use nobodies! We are easier to mold and shape I guess.

Thanks Karl. It means a lot coming from a guy who has seen as much success as you have. So many people have benefitted from Kidology.
I’m really not that concerned about being anything special (I’m actually kind of scared of all that pressure) but I want to do and be what God is calling me to be. He is opening doors that I didn’t even know were there. But, I guess if God can use a donkey to speak to a prophet, he can use me. Right?
I’m just excited about what God is doing and if He chooses to use me, great. If he uses someone else, that’s great too.
